About the event
The introductory self-defense workshop will cover the basics of self-defense including a few practical moves.
In my two-hour workshops, you will learn life skills that will empower you with a greater awareness of yourself and your surroundings, including tools that keep you safe in the real world. I cover awareness, avoidance, common sense behaviors, basic strikes and kicks, and defending against grabs and chokeholds. By learning how to protect yourself against danger, and developing the confidence that these skills bring, you will walk away with both peace of body and peace of mind. If this time does not work for you, contact Christina Ioannides for information about other workshops.
About the instructor: I have been actively practicing and involved in the Karaté style called Kimura Shukokai International (KSI) for 35+ years. I am a six-time Individual World Karate Fighting Champion and one of only two women in the USA who has earned the rank of Fifth Degree Black Belt in KSI, a style of karate that has a worldwide following. I use this background as a basis for teaching my self-defense programs.
